Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

Pinch of salt

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, using an electric mixer or a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

Transfer the cookie dough to a large piping bag fitted with a star-shaped tip. Pipe the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 1 inch of space between each cookie.

Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cookies are cooled, you can decorate them with your choice of frosting, sprinkles, or other toppings. Enjoy!

Note: If you don’t have a piping bag and tip, you can also use a spoon to scoop out spoonfuls of dough and roll them into balls. Place the dough balls on the baking sheet and flatten them slightly with the back of a fork before baking.
